Solar Together is the Surrey-wide scheme for group purchasing of solar panels and batteries. Registration for the current round is open and will be available until September 2024.
The scheme is for private domestic properties and small businesses. It has run twice before, benefiting hundreds of homes in our borough and over 1000 homes Surrey-wide. If you already have solar PV you can apply for batteries in this new scheme.
How does it work?
Surrey County Council works with iChoosr to select a vetted supplier that offers a good price for at-scale solar installations.

Several factors affect the suitability of your home for solar panels:
the orientation of your roof - south-facing is best, although panels can still work on east and west-facing roofs
shading - even small shadows can reduce the output of a system and should be taken into account when assessing viability
the condition of your roof - solar panels are heavy and your roof will need to be in good condition
planning restrictions - most homes do not require planning permission; however, if you live in a conservation area or a listed building then you will need to consult your local planning department
EARR has found the Solar Wizard tool provided by the Centre for Sustainable Energy to be helpful when assessing the suitability of individual houses. It can provide the orientation and approximate size of your roof spaces and estimate shading (although this is less accurate as vegetation can change significantly.) There is also lots of useful information for people considering solar panels.
