Cosy Street Kicks Off in South park

Updated: May 19

"Cosy Street" is a new neighbourhood approach to improve the energy efficiency of homes within a local area. Energy Action Redhill and Reigate is working in partnership with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council to deliver the first Cosy Street project in SouthPark, Reigate.

A Kick Off meeting was held on 24 February 2026 to introduce the project.

What is it all about?

Cosy Street is a community project delivered by Energy Action Redhill and Reigate and Reigate and Banstead Borough Council

  • to make homes in South Park more comfortable and healthier to live in

  • to reduce the cost of your energy use

  • to increase the take-up of financial support to help heat your home

  • to improve the energy efficiency of your home

Why South Park?

The project covers homes in Priory Road, Eastnor Road, Allingham Road in South park Reigate.

  • 57% of homes in the Cosy Street area have an Energy Performance Certificate of D or below (and 27% have no certificate).

  • Many of the homes were built pre 1900 and share common characteristics

  • There are around 200 homes in the area and we felt this is the right size to allow targeted support

How will it work?

There is menu of support available - residents choose what is most relevant to them. This could include:

  • Energy surveys and Energy Performance Certificates

  • Small energy efficiency measures

  • Loft insulation rolls

  • Advice on bills

  • Grant support

  • Other signposting

We also want to hear from residents of Cosy Street about what you need to help make your homes more cosy and save on your energy bills.
