As part of a larger community network, EARR are pleased to announce that Surrey County Council has recently introduced a new community purchasing scheme for local residents. Using the power of group-buying, the scheme aims to pool together interested homeowners who are looking for sustainable, cost effective and efficient heating via heat pumps.
The ‘Switch Together Heat Pump Scheme’ is open now and available until 14th November, so don’t delay! You can register here: Switch Together website.
The purpose of this scheme is to combine vetted, trusted installation partners with a group of interested homeowners so that you can receive a personalised, free, no obligation quote for an energy efficient heat pump to replace your traditional boiler. Working together means that better prices can be secured and installers are able to provide more competitive bids, all while providing you with peace of mind and expert service.

Any Surrey resident who owns their home is eligible to register their interest in Switching Together, which is further supplemented by the UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme – this can provide grants of up to £7,500 for heat pump installations, and you can find more information here: Boiler Upgrade Scheme
For any residents who are curious about heat pumps and would like to know more, we will be running a series of library drop-in sessions over the next few months, as well as a dedicated heat pump event towards the end of 2025 – check back for updates! We will be delighted to discuss how heat pumps could help to make your home cosy while reducing your carbon impact and reliance on fossil fuels. In the meantime, there are plentiful resources in our previous blog post about ‘Heat Pump Myth Busting’ to get you started.
