EARR currently has a small board of 3 trustees. Whilst this has helped us to develop quickly, we would now like to bring new skills and diversity to the board to help evolve and expand our work.
We are looking for new trustees to join our board. In particular we would welcome people with digital or communication skills or who have practical and/or professional experience of retrofit installation. We are also keen to diversify our board and would value younger voices of all genders and ethnicity to bring fresh perspectives and energy to our mission.

About Us
Energy Action Redhill and Reigate is a Community Benefit Society working to help households across East Surrey save
energy and reduce carbon emissions. We provide free and impartial advice, run local events, and collaborate with councils, community groups and residents to make homes warmer, greener, and more affordable to run.
Role Summary
As a trustee, you will work alongside other board members to:
Shape our strategy and oversee delivery of our community projects.
Ensure we meet our legal and financial responsibilities.
Support our small team with ideas, expertise, and practical help when needed.
Champion our work in the community.
If you have digital and/or communications expertise, you may also:
Help us to improve our (general) digital systems to work efficiently.
Advise/support on improving our website, social media, and online engagement.
Support us in identifying and managing digital and data risks.
Help and guide us to improve the content of our communication whether online, through social media or in press releases.
If you have practical and/or professional retrofit installation experience, you may also:
Provide insight into the commercial retrofit sector.
Help to champion our work with local retrofit installers and build connections.
Advise on training and progression routes within the sector.
Person Specification

We’re looking for someone who:
Is passionate about tackling climate change and improving local homes.
Is willing to contribute ideas and work collaboratively in a small team.
Lives or works in or near East Surrey (Reigate & Banstead, Tandridge, Mole Valley) or has strong local connections.
Can commit to attending a monthly evening meeting (usually online) and occasional project events.
Ideally, has experience in digital/ communications or experience in retrofit installation.
No previous board experience is required—we will support and mentor you in understanding trustee responsibilities.
What You’ll Gain
A chance to make a real difference in your community’s response to the climate and energy crisis.
Experience in governance, strategy, and community project delivery.
New networks and skills, with training opportunities provided.
Satisfaction of helping local people live in warmer, more energy-efficient homes.
